Robert Griffin III finally started to get comfortable late in the Redskins‘ 33-27 loss onMonday Night Football, but the Eagles had built too much of a lead for Griffin to pull off the comeback.

Chip Kelly had the Eagles’ offense humming in the first half. Philadelphia ran 53 plays in the first half, picking up more than 300 total yards and 21 first downs before intermission.

Everyone was expecting Kelly’s offense to give the Redskins some trouble, but the Eagles’ defense was the more surprising element of the game. Philly was able to generate pressure and keep Griffin uncomfortable for most of the night.

The Eagles started to bend late in the game but held on for the six-point win.

Fantasy studs and duds

Michael Vick had 203 yards passing along with 54 yards rushing to go with three touchdowns, making him a surprising fantasy star. Eagles running back LeSean McCoy ran for just more than 180 yards and scored a touchdown in an impressive start to the season.

The Redskins’ late comeback helped Griffin, Pierre Garcon and Alfred Morris salvage respectable fantasy performances.
