Matt Hall, who started all 12 games at right guard for Ole Miss last season, will play his senior season of football of Belhaven.
Hall left Ole Miss midway through the spring. Coach Hugh Freeze said at the time Hall was going to focus on graduating and moving on from college. While he had been a participant in some spring drills, Hall had not been a part of any team drill.
Freeze’s explanation at the time was that Hall was working through some issues that he had to resolve before Ole Miss could depend on him in the fall.
Belhaven, an NAIA school, certainly seems to be excited about adding Hall.
“Matt Hall is a great addition to the Belhaven football program,” said coach Joe Thrasher in a statement. “Since joining our team he has definitely become part of our football family. Hall is a humble young man and has a ton of potential. He will solidify our offensive line and in pressure situations we can be confident in running behind him. I believe he is a big time talent who we will be seeing for years to come.”
